Karaoke Wrong Number (2005-2009)

This work came about after I received a spate of wrong number calls left on my answering machine. I couldn’t bear to erase these messages: humorous, poignant, unnerving or mundane; each had an urgency I wanted to address. Issues of privacy, identity, expectations, and assumptions fueled my interest. I transcribed, memorized and then lip-synced all the wrong-number messages left for me over the course of about four years. – RP New York, NY 2010
